INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHANGE OF HOTEL OWNERSHIP APPLICATION

  1. (a) Applications for the issue of a Change of Hotel Ownership are to be submitted online.

    (b) The following document is required to be submitted online / offline.
           Resume (Curriculum Vitae) of the proposed hotel-keeper if there is a change of hotel-keeper.

    (c) Please note the following :

    • Full Name of Hotel

      Please indicate the current hotel name

    • Proposed Name of Hotel

      If there is to be a Change of Hotel Name, please indicate the new hotel name

    • Address of Hotel

      Please ensure that the full address of the hotel (including postal code) is provided

    • Full Name and Address of Hotel Owner

      Please indicate the new hotel owner's name and ensure that the full address of the new hotel owner (including postal code) is provided

    • Full Name of Hotel-Keeper

      If there is a change of hotel-keeper, please indicate the proposed hotel-keeper's name. The proposed Hotel-Keeper has to be a person who holds a post of a Chief Executive or General Manager or equivalent to that of a Chief Executive Officer or General Manager of the hotel.

    • Number and Type of Liquor Licence

      Please abbreviate the type of liquor licence e.g. :

      1st Class Public House - 1 PH
      2nd Class Beer House - 2 BH
  2. Where the application for a change of hotel ownership also includes a change of hotel name, the applicant shall, at the applicant's own expense, advertise the Application in The Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao within fourteen days of the date of the online application and forward a copy each of the advertisements to the Secretary of the Board. The advertisement must be in the format of the Notice Form.

  3. If your application is approved, you will be informed via SMS and / or e-mail to pay online.

  4. The change of hotel ownership fee payable is as follows:

    (i) hotel with 100 rooms and less
    $200 
    (ii) hotel with 101-299 rooms
    $300 
    (iii) hotel with 300 or more rooms
    $400 

    and hotel-keeper's licence $100.

  5. Every licensee shall keep displayed in a conspicuous place in the public part of the hotel:

    (a) the Certificate of Registration of the hotel; 

    (b) the Hotel-Keeper's Licence; and

    (c) the rates charged for rooms in the hotel. 



  6. The Hotels Licensing Board reserves the right to prescribe additional conditions or waive existing conditions for any applicantion for a Change of Hotel Ownership.

  7. The applicant is to ensure that all information furnished in the application form online be true and correct, including spellings of names and NRIC No / FIN No. Failure to do so, resulting in any erroneous information given, may lead to prosecution of offenders under Section 16 of the Hotels Act, an offence which carries a fine not exceeding $2,000/- for a first offence and to such fine or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both for a second or subsequent offence. It may also affect the application adversely.
